Sheffield United have agreed a deal with Leeds United to sign Rob Hulse for an initial fee of £2.2m.

The news was announced tonight by Yorkshire Radio, the station set up recently by Leeds chairman Ken Bates.

Hulse steps up into the Premiership, where he has previous experience as a West Brom player, to join Neil Warnock’s promoted side.

A statement on the Leeds website www.leedsunited.com read: “Leeds United have agreed a deal with Sheffield United for striker Rob Hulse.

“The Blades will pay an initial fee of £2.2m for the marksman but add-ons could see the price rise to £3m.”

Hulse, 26, began his career at Crewe and scored 13 goals in 35 league starts last season as Leeds reached the Coca-Cola Championship play-offs.
