Haydock to hold Wednesday inspection
05/09/2006 - 11:55:30Thursday’s meeting at Haydock is in doubt following further rain last night, with an inspection called for 2pm tomorrow.
Despite testing conditions, the big meeting last Saturday at the Merseyside track – featuring the Betfred Sprint Cup – took place without a hitch but their next planned fixture is in jeopardy after another downpour.
“We had 11 millimetres of rain last night,” said clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright. “The course is waterlogged in places this morning so we’ll give it until tomorrow afternoon.
“It’s mainly dry at the moment, but there are showers about and Thursday is going to be an unsettled day.”
