Kevin Phelan is right in contention on day three of the Moroccan Open in Agadir.
He is seven under par, just a shot behind leader, Richie Ramsay and Andrew McArthur, on the third day of the Hassan Trophy at Golf du Palais Royal.
Michael Hoey is three over after carding a disappointing 76.
Ramsay was one of four players sharing the overnight lead and recovered from a bogey on the first with birdies on the third, fifth and sixth, while McArthur was surging through the field thanks to a brilliant back nine.
The world number 345 dropped a shot at the second but picked up two birdies to reach the turn in 35 and then birdied the 10th and 11th, eagled the 15th and birdied the 16th.
At eight under par, Ramsay and McArthur were a shot ahead of England’s David Horsey and Phelan, with Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo having set the clubhouse target on six under after a 67.
