Paul Dunne has taken another giant step towards securing a playing card for next season's European Tour.
A round of 69 at the Qualifying School in Spain has left Dunne, who sensationally shared the third-round lead at this year’s Open at St Andrews, tied for 12th place on 10-under.
The top 25 and ties tomorrow will all pick-up cards for next year and Meath’s Damien McGrane is also inside that mark at the moment.
Despite a level par 72 today, he's on 8-under par and tied for 18th.
However Simon Thornton and Kevin Phelan both dropped shots to slip back to level par overall.
England’s Ross McGowan fired the round of the week to jump to the top of the leaderboard in Girona.
McGowan shot a bogey-free eight-under-par 64 to share top spot with American Daniel Im, who birdied two of his last three holes for a 66 to also move to 17 under, and the pair have a three-shot lead heading into the final round at the PGA Catalunya Resort.
