Shane Walsh has announced his retirement from the Waterford inter-county hurling team, after 11 seasons in the senior squad.

Walsh won the National League title with Waterford in 2007 and Munster titles in 2007 and 2010.
He told the Irish Independent that injury worries were a factor in his decision.
“It was time to make my mind up as I was carrying a few injuries,” Walsh said.
The Waterford squad for next season looks set to contain a lot of new faces. In addition to Prendergast and Walsh as many as six other players are reported to have been released, with members of the 2013 All-Ireland winning minor team making the step up to the senior squad in their place.
