The Clyda side face Ulster champions Termon of Donegal Captain Roisín O’Sullivan will be joined by her three younger siblings — Ciara, Doireann and Maebh — on the starting team, while there’s also Síle and Máire O’Callaghan, Roberta and Eimear Harrington, Kathryn and Emma Coakley and Niamh and Aisling O’Sullivan.

This is the first time that Mourneabbey have contested for the Dolores Tyrell Memorial Cup having won the junior All-Ireland title in 2005 and the intermediate in 2007. Inch Rovers were the last Cork side to win the Tyrell Cup in 2010.

Incredibly, Mourneabbey are the only ladies football club in the country to have reached all three All-Ireland finals.

It’s not known if five sets of sisters is the highest tally to have played in club final, but it must certainly be close.

Their opponents Termon will have three sets of sisters vying for honours at Tuam Stadium in Galway come 2pm on Sunday. Captain Geraldine McLaughlin will line out with her sisters Nicole and Sharon, while there’s also Olive, Thérese and Petra McCafferty; and Niamh and Roisín Friel.

The McCafferty sisters are joined on the panel by two their two cousins, Roisín and Gráinne, and the five McCafferty cousins are also first cousins of Donegal’s 2012 All-Ireland winner Christy Toye.

The links with the Donegal men’s panel don’t stop there, with goalkeeper Laura Gallagher the sister of double All-Star midfielder Neil Gallagher.

Mourneabbey will travel to Galway on Saturday before Sunday’s 2pm final which TG4 will show deferred coverage of on Sunday evening.
