Rory Gallagher gets vote of confidence

Donegal manager Rory Gallagher has been given a resounding vote of confidence this evening.

Despite this year's All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Dublin and the Ulster final loss to Tyrone, Gallagher has been handed a new three-year term at tonight's county board meeting.

Club delegates have voted unanimously to re-appoint Gallagher for a further three years, with the option of an extra year.

2016 mirrored Gallagher’s first year in charge, with Ulster and All-Ireland quarter-final defeats.

He was a selector for Donegal’s 2012 All-Ireland Championship victory alongside Jim McGuinness.
