Spot the Difference!

Twitter has been poking fun at the Antrim County Board for sending out their Senior Footballers wearing a mix of old and new jerseys for their Round 1A Qualifier against Laois.

It has been an all-round bad week for the Board who have - much more seriously - been criticised for leaving three players to play a club hurling game a day before meeting Laois.

But the jerseys are another sign that all is not well for the Saffrons.

Exhibit A: Spot the Difference!

Numbers 25 (far left) and 23 (5th from left) both sport the newer white stripe, which is missing from the older set.

The difference is clearer in Exhibit B:

The issue wouldn’t be so serious but for the fact that the older kit doesn’t include the Northern Property sponsor on the back of the jersey…

Old…

…And new.

"It can't go on like this," Antrim’s CJ McGourty told Newstalk’s Off The Ball.

McGourty spoke about the jerseys but mainly addressed being dropped from the team for playing a Relegation match the night before for his club.

"It's about time that the Antrim County Board weren't allowed to do this to any individual or any club again," he said.

CJ McGourty, as well as his brother Kieran and Conor Burke, were dropped the following day in favour of fresher players

The Antrim Board had responded earlier to that issue, noting that the game had been agreed between the two clubs, St Gall’s and Clooney Gaels, and any intervention would be an act of favouritism on their part.

McGourty also alleged tonight that the Board don’t give full expenses to their players, or deliver them on time.

The whole incident has been derided on Twitter:
