New GAA President closes World Games with a song

GAA President Áogan Ó Fearghail gave the closing address at the first ever GAA World Games in Dubai and finished by leading the audience in a chorus of Oró Sé do Bheatha Bhaile.

Following a 10-minute unscripted speech to the 500 in attendance, the Drumgoon native, who is just a week into his GAA Presidency, followed the Irish tradition of finishing with a song.

Kerry Football legend (and victorious Argentina manager) Pat Spillane, iconic GAA Commentator Micheal Ó Muircheartaigh, Irish Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe, T.D., Minister of State at the Departments of An Taoiseach and Defence and Irish Ambassador to UAE Patrick Hennessy were all in attendance on the night.

The first ever GAA World Games saw Canada GAA, Argentina GAA, New York GAA and Middle East GAA crowned World Champions in the various competitions taking place in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
