Limerick include Allis and Condon for Division 1B decider

Limerick manager John Allen has named an unchanged team for tomorrow's Allianz Hurling League Division 1B final against Clare at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 6pm).

Limerick manager John Allen has today named an unchanged team for tomorrow's Allianz Hurling League Division 1B final against Clare at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 6pm).

Free-taking forward Conor Allis has been pencilled in at left half-forward despite doubts over the hand injury he sustained in last weekend's win over Antrim.

Allis, who scored 0-8 against the Saffrons, needed five stitches in his hand but a subsequent X-ray showed that there was no bone damage.

Defender Tom Condon is set to take his place again at left corner back. He suffered a wrist injury and had to be replaced by Shane O'Neill for the second half in Belfast.

However, Condon is winning his fitness battle and key attacker Shane Dowling, who returned from injury to score 2-5 against Antrim, is fit to start for the second week running.

Kevin Downes and Sean Tobin will hope to have an impact off the bench for Allen's side, but Declan Hannon (groin) is still a few weeks away from coming back into contention.

Limerick and Clare have already met on three occasions this season. There was a draw and a replay win for Clare in the Waterford Crystal Cup, before Limerick lost by 14 points in the opening round of the league.

As well as qualifying to meet Kilkenny in the Division 1 semi-finals on April 22, the winners of tomorrow's tie will secure promotion to Division 1A for next season.

The Easter Saturday showdown is a repeat of last year's Division 2 decider. That Ennis encounter saw Limerick win by 4-12 to 2-13 with Tobin, Hannon and Downes helping themselves to goals.
