Even though the game finished in a draw, the fact the game took place satisfies the rule which states a county can only nominate a club to represent them in a Munster competition where their own championship hasn't finished.

As South Kerry are a divisional outfit, they are not permitted to enter the provincial stages so Legion automatically go forward as Kerry's representatives.

As club championship winners in the Kingdom, Dingle had been in line to play had Legion lost yesterday but they have now been informed their services won't be required.

It means both Legion and South Kerry's St Mary's contingent including Bryan Sheehan will be involved in provincial action next weekend. Legion's clash with Nemo Rangers will take place in Páirc Uí Rinn or Mallow at 2pm on Sunday while St Mary's face Clare champions in an intermediate semi-final in Caherciveen on Saturday at 2pm.

Kerry's competitions control committee will meet this evening to confirm details of the Legion-South Kerry replay, which will go ahead the weekend after next.
