Kilkenny hurling has suffered a blow with the revelation that Ger Aylward is likely to miss most if not all of this year’s Championship campaign with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
The forward sustained the injury at the weekend while playing for his club Glenmore in the All-Ireland Junior semi-final, which they won.

Scans have confirmed the extent of the damage and ruled the player out of the All-Ireland Junior final with his club and any inter-county involvement for the foreseeable future.
Best wishes to Ger Aylward @GlenmoreGAA in his recovery from cruciate injury.

Aylward won an All-Star in 2015 for his part in Kilkenny’s successful All-Ireland campaign and his loss is a further blow to the Kilkenny attack following the enforced retirement of Richie Power.
