GAA supporter rips up ticket on day of All-Ireland to win money for club

As part of their sponsorship of the All-Ireland club championships, AIB set a poser for GAA fans outside Croker on Sunday.

The choice was simple, club or county?

They offered fans from Donegal and Kerry a €2,000 cheque to give to their club if they ripped up their ticket for that day's All-Ireland final.

A tough one.

They all thought long and hard about it before understandably turning it down - except for one couple.

John Dowling from Ardfert in Co Kerry and Ursula O'Keeffe from Rathmore in the Kingdom may be rivals when it comes to their clubs, but when it comes to making a sacrifice for their clubs, they are united.

John said: "My girlfriend has never been to an All-Ireland final, and we're going out a couple of years. I love my club, but I also love my girlfriend, so I don’t think I would be able to rip it up."

However, Ursula persuades him, saying: "You have to, it's €2,000 for your club."

So John duly rips it in half to cheers from the crowd.

Did they regret it? No.

AIB had a surprise for them.

Have a look.

Well done, Ursula and John for making the toughest choice, and good luck to your clubs.
