Eoin Larkin will be fit for final showdown, confirms Cody

Eoin Larkin’s hand injury will not rule him out of Sunday-week’s All-Ireland Hurling Final, Kilkenny manager Brian Cody has confirmed.

Larkin sustained the hand injury in a training game at Fota Island last weekend, but the injury will not impinge on his availability for the final against Galway.

“Eoin got a bit of a knock on the thumb. He’s going to be fine. We’ve no concerns about Eoin, at all,” said Cody.

“I don’t know what story is out there about him to be honest about it, but Eoin will be absolutely available to us.”

The 31-year-old attacker has a remarkable record in All-Ireland finals, starting in 10 deciders since 2006 and playing every minute of those games, bar his first final.

He was also the winning captain in 2012, when Kilkenny defeated Galway in their last final meeting.

However Jackie Tyrrell remains unlikely to line out in the final, with the defender yet to return to training after undergoing an operation on a stress fracture in his ankle.
