Clare’s All-Ireland winning coach has returned to join Davy Fitz and Donal Óg

All-Ireland winning coach Paul Kinnerk has returned to the Clare hurling set-up.

Manager Davy Fitzgerald has confirmed that the highly-rated coach has agreed to join his backroom team for 2016 as a coach/ selector where he will team-up with Donal Óg Cusack, Aonghus O'Brien and Seoirse Bulfin.

Kinnerk was part of the Clare coaching staff from 2012 to 2014, with the Banner taking home Liam MacCarthy in 2013.

“I am delighted to welcome Paul back into our setup as his experience, expertise and knowledge of the existing panel of players will complement what is already a high quality backroom team,” said Davy Fitzgerald.

“I initially spoke with Paul during last summer, and then several times throughout the winter about getting him involved with Clare for the 2016 season but due to personal commitments he was unable to consider the invitation until very recently.

“The existing coaching staff of Donal Óg Cusack (coach/selector), Aonghus O’Brien (coach) and Seoirse Bulfin (coach) have been part of this process having met with Paul, and they are delighted to welcome him into the coaching setup.”

Kinnerk will continue in his existing roles with the Limerick underage football and hurling academies.
