Check out the trip to Croker as you’ve never seen it before

On Sunday, the Boys in Blue will fill Hill 16 once again for the All-Ireland SFC semi-final agains Kerry at Croke Park, writes Peter McNamara.

Anybody that has ever taken their place on the Hill will know that there are fewer vantage points in any stadia across Ireland with a greater history and buzz.

However, now club and inter-county football championships sponsors AIB, as a part of its summer ‘Club Fuels County’ campaign, has created the first GAA 360 video which fans can view on YouTube and Facebook with a focus on bringing Hill 16 to life in a fresh way.

It is definitely worth a watch.

“As the video plays your surroundings come alive as fans are transported to Croke Park, fully immersed in the game day action happening all around them,” the press release explained. “Viewers can explore every angle and move around within the video by turning their device or moving the cursor on screen.

“Facebook introduced 360 video on the platform in September 2015 and this campaign by AIB is the first to use this stunning and captivating tool to share immersive stories, places and experiences with GAA fans."

“Shot in Ambisonic sound for a wholly immersive experience and launched today, AIB tells the story of what it means to support your team, through the eyes of Ballymun Kickhams and former Dublin star, Alan Hubbard.”

Shot in collaboration with Ballymun Kickhams and at Dublin’s All-Ireland quarter-final victory against Donegal, people now can experience what it’s like to be part of the Hill 16 atmosphere on match-day, a unique experience in itself.

“We really enjoyed being part of the action on the Hill when we viewed AIB’s 360 video and we hope fans will too,” GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghaíl said.
