Like many clubs, Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA in Tipperary has seen it’s teams suffer in recent years because of emigration.
The club wants to bring the 17 players they have lost home for one very special match.
At 2pm on December 26 a one-off match for charity will be held at Gortnahoe GAA Grounds and the club are asking former players to return and play their part.
To encourage them, Evan Fanning has edited together an excellent video of some of the players who have already agreed to return.
From Birmingham to Hong Kong and London to Melbourne, the Tipp men show their skills and vow that they are coming ‘Home to Hurl’.
Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA is also the home club of Ireland’s Shane Long and his brother is the hurler shown in Birmingham.
Worth watching through to the end.
