American Football College teams train ahead of controversial Croke Park clash

The American Football College teams contesting this weekend's Croke Park Classic have been training at their team bases ahead of their meeting at GAA HQ this weekend.

The event featuring University of Florida and Penn State comes with some contoversy, as it's the reason the Kerry v Mayo replay will happen outside Croker for the first time since 1983.

The All-Ireland SFC semi-final replay will happen instead in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

It will be the first time for both University of Central Florida and Penn State to play outside the United States.

The teams will compete for the Dan Rooney Trophy, named after the former Irish ambasssador and a key player in the GAA’s redevelopment plans for Croke Park in the early nineties.

The game is expected to attract an estimated 50,000 people to Croke Park.
