Yesterday's All-Ireland Football final was the most watched show on Irish television so far this year.

The RTÉ coverage attracted an average of over 875,000 people to see Dublin win the Sam Maguire Cup.

An extra 57,000 people tuned in to the game on the RTÉ Player.

An average of 586,000 watched Ireland beat Canada in their opening Rugby World Cup game.

Japan's shock victory over South Africa also proved a hit with Irish viewers, with a peak of 409,000 people watching at the final whistle, as underdogs Japan dramatically won with the last play of the game.
