FIFA: Replay would cause chaos in football

Ireland hope to discover today whether they will be allowed to replay their World Cup clash with France.

The Irish Government has written to FIFA seeking to have the match replayed following Thierry Henry's handball before France's goal.

But the French President Nicholas Sarkozy said last night that he would not help Ireland secure a replay of the match.

A FIFA source told news agency the Press Association: "There is no way the game can be replayed", saying it would cause chaos in the sport.
