Marcus Horan will find out later in the week if he has any part to play in Ireland's November internationals.

He has been undergoing a series of tests and investigations that will be completed this week meaning he was not in the Ireland camp with the rest of the squad in Limerick today.

The Ireland squad trained for the first time as they began preparations for the Guinness Series games this November.

Gordon D'Arcy did not take any part in training due to his calf strain.

Rob Kearney (hamstring) and Brian O'Driscoll (calf), Jerry Flannery (calf) and Tony Buckley (calf) all underwent rehabilitation on the field.

Tommy Bowe, Leo Cullen and David Wallace also sat out the session as they recover from minor knocks picked up over the weekend.

None of the injuries to the players are considered enough to rule them out of selection next week.
