This week in Serie A Filippo Inzaghi, ironically called "Super Pippo" by the fans, scored his 300th goal for AC Milan against Siena which finished with a 1-5 victory for the Rossoneri.

Inzaghi said: “This morning when I was reading the newspaper I could not believe it, it was fantastic. For a striker it is about as exciting as it gets scoring your 300th goal. One day I will tell my children about that.”

The player celebrated his 300 goals by wearing a jersey with ‘300’ in gold writing, a gift from his coach Ancellotti.

Giampaolo Pazzini is the new idol in Sampdoria’s Marassi stadium, where he scored two beautiful goals on Sunday afternoon against Roma.

As the Primocanale website reported today, the 24-year-old has been watched by many English clubs but at the moment he has no intention of leaving.

Pazzini is dying to wear the Italian jersey: “My greatest dream is to play for Italy. I’m going well and I hope Lippi is keeping an eye on me.”

The managing director of Sampdoria, Marotta was interviewed by Radio Rai: "Pazzini is currently one of the best players in Italy. Cassano will remain in our team for a long time. I think Lippi should have them both in the next Italian team.”

Claudio Ranieri is also proud of his Juventus side with duo Giovinco and Del Piero terrorising opponents.

Both are fantastic players but Del Piero has the experience and technique that the team need. For Juventus he is essential.

Two other players in good form are Giuseppe Mascara of Catania and Udinese’s Fabio Quagliarella. The two of them played face to face in Sicily last weekend, scoring a goal each.

They are both young with great talent and Lippi knows that very well.

During an interview with Sky TV, the ex-Fiorentina player Luca Toni, now at Bayern Munich said: "I would like to return to play in Italy. It obviously depends on which club will be interested in me.”

Perhaps Toni sees this as essential to giving him an opportunity to play for the Azzurri.

Bad news for Juve’s Giorgio Chiellini and Alberto Aquilani of Roma who were both injured at the weekend.

Chiellini fractured his nose playing against Bologna and will return to play in the next couple of weeks.

Aquilani had just signed his new contract with Roma until 2013 but last week he had a problem with his ankle and, as the Corriere dello Sport reported, the team Doctor Giannini said that he will need several weeks of rest before coming back to play.

He is one of the Lippi favourite for the match against Montenegro.
Too many Italian players are injured at the moment.

Brozzi, the former doctor of Roma has said that the fault is “too much stress”.

Brozzi said: “It takes about 48-72 hours to restore these defenders in football and today, unlike sports such as basketball and rugby, you are creating a situation where the players are immune deficient.

“The differences with other countries? A friend of mine, a coach with experience in Spain and England, told me that they concentrate on technical expertise in training, that is, train a lot on the field with the ball, resulting in more fun for the athletes, and less chance of physical damage.”

The Italian coach Marcello Lippi will be very careful this time, because at moment there are too many injured players.

But he is still positive and has a great desire to win.

During the TV program ‘Che tempo fa’, Lippi said: “I would like to rebuild the team with the same psychological conditions of the one who won the World Cup 2006 in Germany. Now we must think about the qualifications and play good matches against Montenegro and Republic of Ireland.”
