Exeter to check

Exeter have called a precautionary inspection for 8am ahead of this afternoon's meeting.

Clerk of the course Barry Johnson had not planned to check conditions but after temperatures dropped lower than forecast overnight, he feels it prudent to have an inspection.

He said: "We were forecast to get down to 0C so there was no need to call an inspection but on arriving, we found it had dropped to -4.2C.

"It's still -1.5C now and although most of the track is fine, we thought we had better have a look in case the temperature doesn't start to rise.

"We are still very confident of racing going ahead though."
