Donnellan included for Tribe ahead of Cork clash

Wing forward Cyril Donnellan has been included in the Galway team for tomorrow's All-Ireland SHC semi-final clash with Cork at Croke Park (throw-in 3.30pm).

Donnellan has been recovering from a chipped bone below his elbow and remains doubtful for the Tribesmen's return to GAA headquarters.

He recently resumed full training but it is unlikely that manager Anthony Cunningham will risk him from the start.

Apart from Donnellan, Cunningham is set to go with an unchanged starting line-up - giving a vote of confidence to the team that beat Kilkenny to annex the Leinster title last month.

Tomorrow's meeting will be the 32nd Championship clash between Galway and Cork, a rivalry which stretches back to 1901 when they met for the first time in an All-Ireland semi-final that the Rebels won 7-12 to 1-3.

Cunningham is hoping to guide Galway through to their first All-Ireland final in seven years, but he recognises the threat that this talented Cork side will pose.

Speaking to the Galway Independent, he said: "I was very impressed with Cork in the finish (of their quarter-final). Three points down and Waterford probably had a couple of chances to win the match.

"Cork showed massive composure. You would be most taken aback by their composure to score six or seven points to win comfortably as well.

"They produced good players from the bench as well and I thought the spread of scores that they got. Of any team they probably had the most forwards and the most scorers. Scoring comes easy to them.

"I've been very impressed with the way they have done their business. They were extremely unlucky not to have won the Tipperary match. They had very good goal chances."

GALWAY (SHC v Cork): James Skehill; David Collins, Kevin Hynes, Fergal Moore; Niall Donoghue, Tony Óg Regan, Johnny Coen; Iarla Tannian, Andy Smith; David Burke, Niall Burke, Cyril Donnellan; Conor Cooney, Joe Canning, Damien Hayes.
