Derry expecting tough test at The Showgrounds

League leaders Sligo welcome Jason McGuinness back after a back problem as they prepare to host north-west rivals Derry City in an intriguing derby game at the Showgrounds tonight (7.05pm).
Mark Quigley is also available after serving a six-game suspension.
The Bit O’Red are unbeaten but will be aware that Derry have conceded just three league goals in their opening six fixtures.
“We’ve spoken about how it has been a squad effort so far and not the starting XI that has given us the good start,” said Sligo Rovers manager Ian Baraclough.
“We have two Setanta Cup games and league matches coming up and everyone wants to be involved so that is a nice problem to have. Our small squad has brought us closer together and we’re working well.”
The Candystripes travel to the Showgrounds looking to put right a poor record against Sligo last season that saw them fail to beat Rovers in any of their four league encounters. Sligo have won their past 10 home games in succession in all competitions.
Derry have doubts over Stephen McLaughlin (hamstring), Shane McEleney (knee), Owen Morrison (calf strain), Ruadhri Higgins (groin strain) and Rory Patterson (inflamed ankle) while Stewart Greacen (knee) will be out for at least eight weeks with a knee complaint.
Derry City manager Declan Devine said they are expecting “another very tough test”.
“Sligo are flying high at the minute having had their best start to a season in a long time but we too have started well this season."
