Cumani in the hunt for Ascot prizes

15/06/2006 - 17:32:41
Luca Cumani is looking forward to next week’s action at Royal Ascot, where he expects to be well represented in the high-profile handicaps.

Acknowledging the strength in depth found in races at the meeting, Cumani has lined up a two-pronged attack on the Royal Hunt Cup and the King George V Handicap Stakes, and hopes his charges get the rub of the green in those contests.

Explaining probable running plans, he told Racing UK: “I have two in the Hunt Cup – Pride of Nation and Minority Report.

“They are both in excellent form, but with 30 runners you need a lot of luck.

“We also have Kyoto Summit and Hard To Explain in the King George.

“Both are in good form and will appreciate the ground, so we’re looking forward to it,” he added.
