Coloccini starts for Toon

Skipper Fabricio Coloccini has returned to action to boost Newcastle's drive for Europe against Bolton this afternoon.

The central defender has been included after recovering from the hamstring injury which had kept him out of the previous two games, but key midfielder Cheick Tiote is missing with a similar problem picked up in Friday’s 2-0 victory at Swansea.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has made three changes to the side beaten 3-0 at home by Fulham on Saturday as Gretar Steinsson, Chris Eagles and Kevin Davies replace Marcos Alonso, Ryo Miyaichi and David Ngog.

Subs: Elliot, Abeid, Gosling, Ryan Taylor, Shola Ameobi, Ferguson, Tavernier.

Bolton: Bogdan, Ricketts, Ream, Wheater, Steinsson, Mark Davies, Reo-Coker, Pratley, Kevin Davies, Petrov, Eagles.

Subs: Jaaskelainen, Alonso, Knight, Klasnic, Ngog, Sordell, Miyaichi.
