Coleman wins at Ascot

An outstanding ride from a patient Aidan Coleman secured the Kleenex Mares' Handicap Hurdle at Ascot for Easter Legend (7-1).

Emma Lavelle’s team think a lot of the immature white-faced chestnut, and Coleman only gave her a sniff of the lead after the last flight as she beat Ambrose Princess by a length and a quarter.

Lavelle’s representative Barry Fenton said: “She was very backward last season but she finished on a high at Cheltenham last April.

“The plan was not to hit the front too soon but is she tough and she jumps. She will be something else when she goes over fences.”
