Bus full of Dundalk fans breaks down - get picked up by the team

It was always going to be brilliant having Dundalk in the Europa League but we weren’t expecting them to make legends of themselves before a ball was even kicked.

With their first group game taking place tomorrow night against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, the team are currently en route to AFAS Stadion in the Netherlands.

Eager fans are already on the way too and when they ran into trouble they got some unexpected help.

When a bus full of fans broke down on the way to the airport and was stranded, a second bus pulled over to help.

The supporters were stunned when none other than Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny climbed out to offer them a lift.

Louth councillor John McGahon shared the story as it was told to him on Whatsapp, with the lucky fans delighted to find themselves sharing the team bus to the airport.

The soundest of sound gestures.
