Brad adds to City glee
Bradley Wright-Phillips has signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester City.
The 20-year-old only agreed a new deal last season but after showing further improvement during the summer, City officials have decided to tie him down until 2009.
“It’s good news all round,” said Wright-Phillips, half-brother to England star Shaun, who joined Chelsea for £21m (€30.9m) in July.
“I never, ever thought about leaving, I am under the club’s wing and the aim now is get a few starts and score a few goals – simple as that.”
Wright-Phillips made his return to first-team action in last night’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
The youngster has been suffering from a knee injury, which has restricted him to just three substitute appearances so far this term.
However, he is highly rated by Blues boss Stuart Pearce, who sees the youngster as useful back up to first-choice strike pairing Andy Cole and Darius Vassell.
