Robert Pires put Arsenal in control of their FA Cup semi-final against Blackburn at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Following a slow start from Arsene Wenger’s side, they eventually managed to weather an over-physical approach from Blackburn, with three players booked, all for fouls on skipper Patrick Vieira.
But three minutes from the interval, the Gunners made the breakthrough, with Pires tapping home from close range after Kolo Toure had done all the hard work down the left.
