X Factor bosses are concerned that contestant Andrea Faustini will not be fit to perform on this weekend’s show after he locked himself into a hotel room for 12 hours.

Andrea has been tipped as favourite to win the reality show, but finding himself in the bottom two last week must have taken a toll on the Italian singer.

The singer was extremely emotional during the elimination process - in which fellow contestant Stevi Richie was sent home - and continued to break down even further after the live show.

It was then the singer proceeded to barricade himself in the hotel room with his sister Elena for 12 hours.

According to OK! Magazine, staff of the hotel banged on the door for several hours before Faustini made an appearance.

The Italian singer took to Twitter after the ordeal and thanked his fans for their support.

He also claimed he's now back and stronger than ever.

We hope so!
