will.i.am is to be a judge on 'The Voice'.
The Black Eyed Peas star is set to join the panel of BBC One's new talent show - which is the UK version of the hit US TV singing competition - after bosses reportedly snubbed his good friend and former 'X Factor' judge Cheryl Cole.
Producers had been in talks with will.i.am about getting the Girls Aloud star on the show, but they soon changed their minds after deciding he would be the better option.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "will.i.am is 95% a done deal. He is a big star and loves nurturing new talent. He shoots from the lip, and will not be afraid to tell it like it is. Although I doubt 'The Voice' will be as bitchy as 'The X Factor'."
Singer Jessie J has already been confirmed as one of the judges and it was recently revealed Tom Jones is in talks to join the panel, which will also consist of one other star.
A source said: "Tom is close to committing. He has almost 50 years experience in music so he'll be able to give contestants decent advice.
"Jessie J will attract younger viewers but Tom's bound to be the housewives' favourite."
