White thinks Gaga is superficial

Jack White says Lady Gaga is "all image with no meaning."

The 'Freedom at 21' singer has blasted the pop star, saying he doesn't think she is as sincere as she makes out, and her image and risqué performances come with little depth.

He said: "I don't think she lives it, because it's all artifice. It's all image with no meaning behind it. You can't sink your teeth into it. It's a sound bite. It's very of this age, because that's what people want. They want a Twitter line, a Gif a Jpeg, and MP3."

Jack who is a staunch traditionalist, and presses mainly vinyl records with his Third Man label, also doesn't have time for Twitter, as he doesn't find most of the people using it say interesting things.

He told Esquire magazine: "Twitter is the perfect example of modern living. I think the only people who should have Twitter accounts are comedians. Because it's all about one liners. I would love it if Conan O'Brien or Reggie Watts or Stephen Colbert were to walk into a room and tell me one joke and leave. But you don't want Gore Vidal telling you, 'I'm doing my dishes right now.'"
