Glen Hansard took time out last night to boost the morale of refugees and volunteers by performing an impromptu concert in Central station, Vienna.
The Oscar winner is currently embarking on a world tour and before his show in the Austrian capital he made his way to the train station, a location which is now considered a hub for the refugee crisis.
Initially a small number of volunteers set up tables of food and humanitarian aid around the busy train station, but now serve up to 3,000 people three meals a day.
Volunteer group Train of Hope posted a video of the Dublin native's performance, with the caption: “His songs have cheered up the people here, it is nice to see so many happy faces. It was all a special joy!”.
Oh Vienna.. The spirit of Mic Christopher walked with us the whole evening.. The train station, the Koncerthaus, Cafe Lange.. @yevagabonds
