WATCH: Damien Dempsey duets with Irish YouTuber

Damien Dempsey has ventured into the world of YouTube this week and dueted with Irish YouTuber Hazel Hayes.

Turns out the Irish music legend is a childhood friend of Hazel's, and they grew up only “two doors down” from each other.

Hazel Hayes, aka Chewing Sand, is an up-and-coming Irish YouTuber with over 117,000 subscribers and counts famous YouTubers Sprinkleofglitter and Zoella among her besites.

Her videos range from vlogs and tutorials, but she is most famous for her hilarious ‘Tipsy Talk’ videos.

Hazel - who now lives in London - has been making collab videos every day for the month of December and cleverly calling the venture ‘Collabmass’.

‘Collabmass’ has featured everything from having an Irish Christmas chat with fellow Irish YouTuber Melanie Murphy to buying a Christmas tree with her mom in Dunnes.

And on Monday she invited Damien to call over for a session while she is home for the festive season.

Fun fact: In the video below Damien tells us that three of their old neighbours have nabbed record deals over the years and, along with Hazel’s success, we are convinced there must be something in the water where they grew up.
