The BBC have announced that Ed Sheeran, Take That and Ella Henderson are to perform on a 'Top of the Pops' Christmas special.

The trio of pop acts have been confirmed for the festive show and they will be joined by Labrinth, Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne, Sigma, Rixton, George Ezra, The Vamps, Mr Probz, Gorgon City and Tom Odell - who will perform his cover of The Beatles track 'Real Love', which featured in the John Lewis Yule Tide advert.

The show - which will air at 2pm on BBC One on Christmas Day - will be hosted by Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates and the all-important Christmas number one single will be announced.

A 'Top of the Pops' special will also air on New Year's Eve and will feature the biggest hits of 2014.

Performances will come from Professor Green, Charli XCX and La Roux, The Script and Clean Bandit, George Ezra, Labrinth and Sheeran will appear again.

Sheeran will perform his global hit 'Sing' from his second album 'x' - the UK's biggest-selling LP of the year to date - on the second 'TOTP' special.

Meanwhile, Sheeran today announced he is to play a second concert at London's Wembley Stadium connected by EE next year due to popular demand.

The 23-year-old musician will perform on Friday July 10 and Saturday July 11 and tickets are available at www.edsheeran.com / Kililive.com / Alt-tickets.com / seetickets.com / Ticketmaster.com as well as information.

Speaking about playing at the iconic stadium, Sheeran said: "I've made no secret recently of my ambition to play Wembley Stadium on my own in front of 80,000 people, so I am absolutely over the moon to be able to announce it's going to happen next summer. It's going to be amazing, I just can't wait."
