'The Wanted' anxious to see reaction to work with Brown

The Wanted are "nervous" about the reaction to their work with Chris Brown.

The 'Glad You Came' hitmakers think they will receive a backlash for working with the US star - who was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009 - but are hoping people will just appreciate a "good song".

Jay McGuiness told the Metro newspaper: "Chris Brown really wants to get in the studio with us and we're going to go out there before Christmas to sing and write.

"I think it's been really hard for him to shake it [the assault charge].

"I mean, we'll possibly get a backlash. He still gets a lot of flak for everything that's gone on.

"We are nervous but if the song's a good song it's our song as much as it is his as well, but, yeah, it's something we're definitely thinking about."

Meanwhile, the group have pushed back the release of their next album.

It had been planed for their third record to hit shelves before Christmas, but it will now come out early next year.

Siva Kaneswaran told the Daily Star newspaper: "We put the album back because we decided it wasn't ready. I think the record label wanted to release it for Christmas. There were 13 songs which are amazing, but we want to make it a full package."
