The Oscars to get 'Les Miserables' performance

The cast of 'Les Misérables' will perform at the Oscars, it has been reported.

Anne Hathaway is expected to join Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried and other stars from the award-winning musical, but it's unclear exactly what the performance will involve.

The Daily Mail newspaper has reported Samantha Barks - who plays Éponine - will be leaving her current stage production of 'Oliver!' so she can be part of the show at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.

The details are still being finalised in order to fit in with other performances at the Academy Awards ceremony next month, with a number of options being discussed.

One would see the cast collaborated for a rendition of one of the musical's big numbers, 'One Day More' or 'Do You Hear the People Sing'.

Another idea is a medley, allowing Anne Hathaway - who stars as tragic prostitute Fantine - to sing part of the iconic 'I Dreamed A Dream', with other cast members performing snippets of their own big moments from the film.

The decision hangs on the Oscar creative team figuring out the timings of the show, which will also feature Adele singing the title theme from recent 'James Bond' blockbuster 'Skyfall'.

However, this could still be incorporated into Academy's tribute to 50 years of the iconic spy franchise.
