Engineer Tim Shaw continues his quest to uncover the scientific truth behind some of the most incredible, funny and thrilling stunts on the web, as well as recreating them with his daredevil friend Buddy Munro.

In this second instalment, Buddy goes flying off a ramp using an engine-powered glider, and also uses jet propulsion to ski uphill on a trip to the Czech Republic’s Krkonose Mountains.

Meanwhile, Tim watches videos of people trying to do the splits in mid-air and finds out what effect it has on the human body. Finally, remember the hoverboard in Back to the Future II? That film was set in the year 2015 so the duo think it would be apt to build a working model using various gadgets. But will their ambitious idea get off the ground?

Finding Neverland (ITV3, 8.00pm)

(2004) This is a spellbinding account of creative genius and tragedy, inspired by the real-life friendship of Scottish writer JM Barrie (Johnny Depp) and widow Sylvia Llewelyn Davies (Kate Winslet).

Every element of the film, from Marc Forster’s assured direction and David Magee’s elegant screenplay to sumptuous production design is of the highest calibre.

Depp forgoes his more eccentric, show-stealing performances in favour of a quietly intense portrayal of the famed wordsmith whose closeness to Davies’ sons inspired him to write Peter Pan. Winslet is radiant as a fiercely protective single mother.

The Gleneagle (RTE One, 8.30pm)

From ballet to bingo, country to comedy and snooker to sean nós there’s always something happening in the hotel. It’s like a cruise ship on land – a party that never sleeps.

This week the hotel plays host for the Oireachtas na Gaeilge, Ireland’s longest-running arts festival. 8,000 guests descend for a weekend of singing, dancing and drinking. The banqueting staff also feel the pressure as they pull out the stops to create a wedding to remember for a bride and groom and their 300 guests.

The Shawshank Redemption (ITV2, 9.00pm)

(1994) Banker Andy Dufresne is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and her lover in Forties America, and receives two consecutive life sentences.

One of the most acclaimed dramas of all time, the story is both tragic and uplifting.

Spanning a period of nearly two decades, the movie charts the change in culture over time, and the way in which it can stand still for those who are cut off from the world. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman star.

Humans (C4, 9pm)

The fugitive synths are held prisoner in Hobb’s facility, as he tries to extract the secrets of creating living artificial intelligence that have been programmed into their brains.

Tuppence goes undercover as Rita’s maid, and discovers that she has received a mysterious package from Brown.

The parcel is kept locked up and out of sight, but Tuppence is determined to find out what it contains.

She also discovers that one of the diva’s friends is an agent working for Carter, who continues to obstruct the couple’s investigation.

The Guard (Channel 4, 11.05pm)

However, he does possess a sharp mind for detective work, which comes in handy when newly arrived deputy Aidan McBride goes missing and the officer’s wife Gabriela begs for his help.

Consequently, the laid-back cop is drawn into an international drugs ring, and he must work with a straight-laced FBI agent to crack the case.
