Singer Suzanne's new man 'ticks all right boxes'
Former Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw has announced her engagement to businessman Sam Greenfield and said he was “a breath of fresh air” after a string of romantic disappointments.
The actress and singer, who was previously engaged to Darren Day and split from husband Jason King two years ago, is set to star in About Miss Julie on stage in London.
She told Hello! Magazine the couple got engaged after a whirlwind 12 month romance following a troubled few years which included her divorce and the death of her father.
She said: “He is everything I’ve ever wanted in a man - strong, protective, sensible, intelligent, affectionate, good-looking – he ticks all the boxes. I now understand the term ’my other half’.
“People say it all the time, but now I know what it means to feel part of a team moving in the same direction.”
The star, who shot to fame on the Popstars talent show, said she appreciated the fact her fiance was not involved in showbusiness.
She said: “He’s like a breath of fresh air. He hasn’t had the drama I’ve had but can still empathise. I am, at heart, a laid-back person; complications come to me. But I don’t want the drama any more. I’ll keep the drama to the stage.
“Thankfully, I’ve come out the other side now. Time is a great healer and we have so much to look forward to. I feel really secure and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my personal life – ever in my life.”
