Rosanna Davison: I found online backlash against my gluten comments overwhelming

Rosanna Davison says that she found the backlash over her comments about gluten overwhelming.

The nutritionist had suggested in an interview earlier this year that going gluten-free helped her husband with his back pain and rheumatoid arthritis, among other claims.

However the former Miss World claims that the piece paraphrased her and that she never made the claims in her book.

Ms Davison says she blocked a number of people on Twitter and tried to avoid the social network while she was getting an online backlash.

"To be honest, I wasn't really on Twitter that week or those few days, I just thought at the time that it was better to leave it be," she said.

"I did feel maybe it was an overreaction, I did feel overwhelmed, I was getting hundreds of tweets in, and I wasn't sure who was saying what and who was sparking it off, so yes, it wasn't the best decision to block a couple of people.

"And I did immediately unblock them afterwards and send them tweets."
