The Rolling Stones have hinted they will play at this year's BRIT Awards.

The legendary rockers - Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts - have been nominated in the Best British Live Act category and say they could be performing at the prestigious event, which takes on Wednesday 20 February 2013 at London's The O2.

Keith said: "Onstage is where we belong. When I'm up there with Mick, Charlie and Ronnie, everything is rocking, so a big thanks to Brit fans and the Brits nom!"

The group played The O2 twice in November for their 50th anniversary celebrations and Mick says they are keen to perform there again.

He said: "We all had such a blast. Everyone was at the top of their game and the hometown audiences at The O2 were just fantastic. It's great to be nominated... we'll see you soon."

The group are up against Coldplay, Muse, Mumford & Sons and The Vaccines in the Best British Live Act category and the nomination makes them the only act to be nominated in both this year's awards and at the first BRIT Awards in 1977.
