Rihanna kicks-off new tour in Mexico
Rihanna kicked off her 777 tour in Mexico City on Wednesday evening.
The 'Diamonds' hitmaker wowed fans with her performance, singing classic tracks including 'Umbrella' and 'Take A Bow' as well as two new singles from her upcoming seventh album 'Unapologetic', released later this month.
She told the crowd: "It's been such a long time I've been waiting to come here. I love you guys", adding she wanted to make "everyone jam" with new her track 'Fresh Off The Runway'.
Rihanna, 24, has also credited her success to fellow singer Mariah Carey and says she connects with the 'We Belong Together' singer's journey to stardom.
Speaking on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' Rihanna said: "I remember looking up to people like Mariah Carey. I identified with her in so many ways. She was bi-racial, she was also young and I remember just hearing her story and really being connected to it."
The feisty star revealed she draws musical inspiration from everything she can - the "weirder" the better.
Rihanna said: "I draw inspiration from everything, even if it's weird, there's always something you can find. The weirdest things are sometimes the coolest."
The Bajan singer's next stop on her whirlwind tour - which sees her visit seven different countries in seven days - is Toronto, Canada.
