Just when we thought we couldn’t love Tom Hanks more than we already do, we stumbled across this letter he wrote to Director George Roy Hill at the tender age of 18.
The then-aspiring actor wrote to the Oscar-winning director of "The Sting," and simply asked to be discovered - even though he couldn’t “even grow a mustache”.
“I am a nobody. No one outside of Skyline High School has heard of me. My looks are not stunning. I am not built like a Greek God … but I figure if people will pay to see certain films ... they will pay to see me,” he humorously writes.
The letter, which is currently being displayed in the Library of the Motion Picture Academy in Beverly Hills, proves everything we already know - Tom Hanks, the nicest guy in Hollywood.
