Panti Bliss to run for President?

Panti Bliss may already be the Queen of Ireland but now she has President of the country in her sights too.

The man behind Panti, Rory O’Neill, revealed in a new tell-all showbiz book ‘Beyond The Spotlight’ that running for President is something he might consider in the future.

Rory confessed to author Alan Murphy, “In fairness, I think I would be a good value President. I could do some things as Rory and some as Panti. You’d get two Presidents for the price of one.

“And I think I have the main criteria – I make a pretty decent steak and I pose very well in photographs. So really I think I am highly qualified.”

A worthy successor to Michael D. Higgins perhaps?

Beyond The Spotlight is written by radio show host and entertainment journalist Alan Murphy and explores the world of fame and celebrity. It includes interviews with everyone from Charlize Theron and Paris Hilton to Louis Walsh and Enrique Iglesias, and stories about deceased icons Michael Jackson and Prince.
