Oscar winner Redmayne offered a job on 'Neighbours'

Eddie Redmayne has been offered a cameo role in 'Neighbours'.

The 33-year-old Brit, who recently won the Oscar for Best Actor for his starring role in 'The Theory of Everything', is a huge fan of the Australian soap opera, and TV bosses Down Under are hoping he'll agree to appear on the show.

Series producer Jason Herbison said: "If we could cap off an incredible year for Eddie by writing a guest role, however big or small, it would be our privilege."

Eddie has spoken of his admiration of actors Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne, who play Karl and Susan Kennedy, and it's been suggested he could appear in some scenes with the veteran performers.

Herbison told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I would ensure he moves into the Kennedys' - they are renowned for hospitality."

The offer of a role comes shortly after Eddie lavished praise on the duo, revealing he's a long-time fan of the show and that the pair helped him to develop his craft as an actor.

The Oscar-winning star said: "I think they're amazing.

"I'm a huge fan of them from old. I've learnt a lot from them from watching them daily."
