Nigella gets new BBC show

Nigella Lawson is coming back to British TV for the first time since the breakdown of her marriage and revelations about her private life in a controversial court case.

The celebrity chef will present Simply Nigella on BBC 2 which will see her show off “a new pared-down approach to cooking and eating”.

She said the new show was “about food that makes our life easier, that makes us feel better, more alive and less stressed”.

The relaunch of her career comes 12 months after she was stopped from flying to the United States, where she co-presented cooking show Taste, after she confessed to taking cocaine at the trial of her and ex-husband Charles Saatchi’s personal assistants.

Police said at the time they would not be taking any action after Ms Lawson’s admission which came after the end of her marriage to Saatchi.

The relationship fell apart after he was pictured with his hand on her throat in a central London restaurant.
