Neeson set for Lego movie role

Irish actor Liam Neeson is set to star alongside Will Ferrell in the Lego film.

They have signed on to voice characters in Phil Lord and Chris Miller's 3D animation movie - a cartoon adaptation of the popular children's toy - which is entitled 'Lego: The Piece Of Resistance'.

'Mad Men' actress Alison Brie and Nick Offerman are also set to be involved in the project, joining Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman who signed up in August, Deadline.com reports.

The film's plot will focus on a character named Emmet (Pratt), whose ordinary life as a Lego minifigure is blown out of proportion after he is mistaken for the Master Builder - the most powerful person in the Lego world - and recruited by strangers who want to save it from the evil President Business (Ferrell) and his sidekick Bad Cop (Neeson).

Offerman, who met directors Phil and Chris after starring in a scene for their film '21 Jump Street', is to play a swaggering pirate seeking revenge on the president and Brie is the secretive heroin helping Emmet.

The film is aiming for a February 2014 release.
