Mis-Teeq discuss reforming group

Alesha Dixon wants to reform Mis-Teeq.

The 34-year-old singer - who is now a judge on UK TV show 'Britain's Got Talent' - has been speaking with her former bandmates Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash about the possibility of working on a new record, almost nine years after they went their separate ways.

She told the Metro newspaper: "We are speaking and we're having a meeting.

"It's like all these bands reforming are just jumping on the bandwagon, but I'd be quite happy to go in the studio for a year with the girls and just work on a new record.

"I am so up for doing something with the girls. I have been for a long time."

Dixon admits she is surprised that no other groups have "filled the gap" left by the all female UK Garage outfit, who had seven UK top 10 singles and released three albums between 2001 and 2004.

She added: " I don't think anybody has actually filled the gap since Mis-Teeq left, which is quite worrying as I thought we were opening doors for people."

Dixon recently spoke of how much she enjoyed being in the 'Scandalous' group because they got to be "strong-minded" and look after themselves.

She said: "In the band, we were strong-minded women who didn't worry about what anyone else thought.

"I have a responsibility to myself to feel good but I don't think you should worry what other people think of you.

"It's about having a connection with yourself and caring about your body and wellbeing. I want to feel good in my own skin."
